New Closet New Me
Am I the only one that wants to feel like like a million bucks walking in their closet?
I was not wearing half of my clothes and shoes and not to mention an eye sore, even when it was 100% organized and clean.
So while I was working on my dream fireplace and had to let the mudding on there dry 24 hours, thought to myself what else can keep me busy, and that is when the demo of my closet happened.
Emptied everything out, started tearing s*** up and instally regreted it, thinking to myself “Why did I decide to do this in the first place?”. To back it up a bit, a week prior to my demo I started looking at closet systems and figure out a way to make better use of my space and get that dream closet. After much research and feedback from a coworker on their closet remodel, Ikea became the only runner up and winner of my soon to be custom closet. What I loved most about the Pax wardrobe system was that it was customizable for whatever I wanted to accomplish with my closet and also nice on the wallet. Ikea also has a tool where you can put the dimension of your closet and build your own. I did that to get an idea..but eventually planned it out myself. I literally started learning about all the dimensions of the frames Ikea offered and went to work. I first started out with only two frames and the corner frame. It was the bare minimum that I knew I willnot change my mind with. I started building on that. I did not want my closet to feel too small so I went with the more narrow frames on one of the side and was thinking floating shelves on the other one for my shoes and purse display (all 5 of my purses). I could not find white floating shelves that were the depth I needed (any color but white was available) and after some research I went back to Ikea and bought the Billy bookcase with the glass doors. Lastly I bought the last frame and the other fram organizer, glass drawers so i can display my jeans, scarves/beanies and cute sweaters rather than shelves… a pull out hanger to install on the outside (usually goes on the inside) of the frame between the wall and frame (using every little inch of the closet. and a couple more drawers for my corner frame.
I probably made about 7 trips to Ikea, luckly, i live only 15 min away from it. I did not buy everything at once as I wanted to take my time with what I was building based on my clothes etc. Maybe a more organized brained would have sorted all the clothes before and made a plan.. but hey..where is the fun in that.
